Colin O'Brien

Colin O'Brien

Colin O'Brien died in early September. Colin had been an apprentice chef and a member of Resistance and the Socialist Workers Party in Sydney in the early 1980s.

He worked in Europe for a number of years before returning to Sydney, where he established a number of popular restaurants in the inner city.

Colin was always willing to donate a meal and a bottle of wine as a raffle prize for progressive causes and shared his prodigious culinary talent to help create the tradition of fine food served at the dinner dances for Direct Action and later 91̳. His generosity and hospitality, not to mention cooking, will be sadly missed.
