A 12-week community picket outside Heat Treatment Australia (HTA) in Campbellfield has led to a partial victory: the company has denied it helps supply parts for Israel鈥檚 genocide.
HTA provides crucial heat treatment for components of F-35 Joint Strike fighters which are being used in Israel鈥檚 genocide in Gaza.
HTA erected a sign at the end of April stating that it plays no role in manufacturing military components.
HTA CEO Norm Tucker was also quoted by the saying that the Campbellfield facility does not provide heat treatment for military components.
He added that the process is being done in Magan-djin/Brisbane.
Pro-Palestine activists on hailed this as a victory, telling a media conference that 鈥渨eapons production has moved out of Campbellfield because of our sustained community pickets鈥.
They added that the campaign against HTA Global 鈥渋s not over鈥, promising to target weapons鈥 facilities that help arm Israel.
The also noted that, since the beginning of the campaign, HTA Global has removed any reference to the company鈥檚 role in defence industry manufacturing.
This demonstrates the picket did have an impact, they said.
