77 years of Nakba: Join protests and commemorations

May 8, 2025
Issue

Join protests and vigils across the country to mark the 77th anniversary of al Nakba (Catastrophe), when 750,000 people were expelled from Palestine to establish the state of Israel in 1948.

The Nakba has continued as Israel has expanded its territories, particularly in the 1967 war, and now it is committing an ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, with more than 60,000 Palestinians killed so far.

Israel has also announced plans to seize all of Gaza in the coming weeks, which would turbocharge its genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

The Australian government must cease all military, economic and political ties with the apartheid state of Israel and do everything it can to stop the genocide.
