Climate COP-Out is back this November 2025, from Wed 19th - Sun 23rd. Cop that COP30!
The UN’s 30th annual Conference of Parties (COP30) will be held in Brazil this November. Next year they plan to bring it to this continent and we will call them out.
We are locked in for another gathering of politicians and fossil fuel executives, to docile the masses with false promises while having every intention of continuing business as usual.
We will not sit by and watch.
The first time the UN declared intentions to limit carbon emissions was in 1992.
The Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels was signed in 2016.
Now in 2025, 1.5 is a dream of the past, and those who had faith in the global north to put the interests of the planets life support systems above their own personal gain, have been misled. Emissions continue to rise and governments continue to expand and delay the closure of fossil fuel extraction sites.
What a cop-out! We won't stand for it!
We are going to be CALLING OUT their CLIMATE COP-OUT from the 19th– 23rd Nov at Addison Rd Community Centre and around Warrang on Gadigal Land.
As always there will be the Cycle for Climate, live music, dancing, workshops, crafting, and deceptively delicious delectable delights from Food Not Bombs.
We will speak out on the climate crisis and we will call out the bullshit that is COP30.
Climate COP-Out is a time to practice collective resistance, to share knowledge, ideas and stories, to imagine a future that is safe and free for all, and to fight for that future.
We hope to see you there!
