'Ensure the laws can never be implemented'

November 17, 1993
Issue

"November 15 revealed just how deep the concern about the government's anti-union laws is — not only among workers, but also among young people, the unemployed, pensioners and people on welfare. Millions are scared of what the Australian workplace will become if Howard prevails.

"It is essential that any attempt to implement this attack is met with all-out union and community resistance that ensures that the laws can never be implemented. That's also the only answer to the draconian ideological offensive being waged in favour of further cutting wages and increasing profits in this country."

Tim Gooden, secretary of Geelong and Region Trades and Labour Council
