Film night and discussion: FernGully

Arts, culture & social functions
Gadigal Country/Sydney

When

6:30pm Friday 12 April

Where

Resistance Centre
22 Mountain St
Ultimo NSW 2007
Australia

Why

We're going back in time to watch FernGully a beautiful and heartwarming movie about rainforest fairies in the Northern Rivers of NSW saving their forest home. The film is based on a real forest that was saved from logging and a dam - because sometimes we need a good news story to keep our activist hearts strong.

(Please register via the Action Network link so we can plan catering: )

Rough schedule:
6.45pm - Premiere of interviews by forest and climate defenders at Mardi Gras
7pm - Get ready to hear Robin Williams rap about the sins of humans as Batty in FernGully
8.30pm - Let's talk about pinkwashing, greenwashing and what we're going to do about it! Over some dins, ofc, Resistance Bookshop wants to feed you. (Vegan meals available for $6-10)

We welcome discussion about future actions, with a non-violent direct action focus. We're keen to hear what ideas you'd be interested in or would like to share.
