The NSW Government has demolished thousands of public homes in the last two decades, causing immense harm to the tenants and communities forced to move.
It has also reduced overall public housing stock and increased the waiting list, as current tenants are forced to move into other homes.
Despite the dismal record of estate redevelopment, the new NSW Government looks set to proceed with several planned demolitions.
These include Waterloo South, Wentworth Park Rd Glebe, Explorer St South Eveleigh, Arncliffe, Riverwood, and the Argyle Estate in Coffs Harbour.
Public housing does not need to be demolished for it to be improved.
