Reading:

We're encouraging people to come in person but there will also be an online option.

Discussion points for the bookclub:
1. Jonathan Cook tells us South Africa’s former Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu pointed out Palestinians under occupation suffer from something more extreme than (the former South African regime of) apartheid. Discuss “apartheid-plus”.
2. What is national self-determination? Why is a colonial-settler state racist? How is national oppression ended when a colonial settler-state has been established, as in Palestine?
3. What is the relationship of the fight for Palestinian self-determination to the rights of all the people who live “between the river and the sea”. Also discuss “criticism of Israel cannot be equated with antisemitism” (p. 42).
4. What are the interests of the US and Australian capitalists in supporting Israel’s genocidal war?
