Candlelight vigil with speakers, poetry and finishes with a silent march.
During the initial phase of the Nakba, more than 750,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their homes and more than 15,000 were martyred by the zionist entity. For 76 years, the occasion of this date has been met with fierce demonstrations of resistance by both Palestinians, and people across the world in a show of solidarity. Nakba day also serves as a time for mourning the martyrs and all that was taken away. This year’s Nakba Day coincides with plans from the zionist entity to completely annex the Gaza strip in the largest escalation of colonial violence seen since the Nakba. This day must be a reminder that the struggle for liberation is not over, and that the courage of the resistance will always endure.
