One of the surreal aspects surrounding Extinction Rebellion Western Australia鈥檚 (XRWA) Day of Declaration protest at state parliament on August 15 was the frantic efforts of聽The West Australian聽to poison public perceptions of the rapidly expanding movement.
Extinction Rebellion WA (XRWA) brought proceedings at state parliament to a halt on August 15 鈥 dubbed 鈥淒eclaration Day鈥 鈥 as about 500 people rallied outside while a group of XRWA activists delivered a message to Legislative Assembly members.

But the desire for an honest conversation about modern Australia's origins in the violent and ongoing dispossession of Indigenous people is not going away.
Across the country Invasion Day marches were both bigger than ever, and took place in many more places. More local governments have dropped their January 26 activities and finally the ABC allowed Triple J to shift its Hottest 100.
