Why
Wanna march in the pride parade on Saturday Nov 1st with a bunch of radical left trans folks and queers? or you're an ally and wanna walk with us?
We're gonna paint some signs and a banner in preparation.
Some broad ideas around messaging currently (thought still to be finalised)
- Broad grouping of queer radicals centring trans antifascist struggle
- Main focus might be calling for solidarity from other grassroots groups such as unions and leftist orgs
Slogans could include:
- Will you speak up for us? (referencing ‘First They Came…‘ by Martin Niemoller)
- Pink triangle
- No pride in genocide
- Shame on Penny Wong
- Access to queer+trans healthcare benefits everyone
- Something referencing George Duncan?

Building
Please see below for a copy of the floor plan.
Entry: Front door is a double glass door, so both can be opened if one door is not wide enough. Doorway from the front to main space is 96cm wide.
Toilet: On site, one individual toilet, large room with hand rails. Been told it meets accessibly requirements (door is standard handle push door though/ not electric/ pull to exit)
Lights: cannot be dimmed but combination or lights on/off can be achieved for lower lighting.
Quiet space: we can make one of the smaller meeting rooms a lower sensory space.
Comfort: feel free to bring your support animal. A/C is available for us to use. Only saw office like chairs (without arms) in the space but didn't see the smaller rooms. Carpeted floor.
Outside: only outside space is directly in front of the offices/the wide footpath. There would be enough space to set up a few people painting out there if desired.
Parking: one 2hr disabled parking space (90°) on South West corner of Hutt and Angas Sts. About 57m away on brick paving to the office. Some bumps/uneven parts of the footpath.
Lots of 3hr on Saturdays free 90° parking. Two loading/10min/drop off spaces
Also the driveway to the apartments next door (west on Angas) could work as a more accessible dropoff point because of the ramp to footpath.
COVID/cold/flu mitigation
Please stay home if you have any COVID/cold/flu symptoms or know you are a recent close contact. Masks will be available at the door. We will to have an air purifier on to improve air quality. Hand sanitizer will be available.
We also encourage doing a RAT before attending if possible.
(Note: If you have recently had COVID it is best practice wait to test once your symptoms are gone, receive a negative RAT then do another 24hrs after)
Food Drinks kitchen etc
We have access to the kitchen space. There is a kettle, fridge and microwave.
Feel free to bring your own supplies or things to share. Please no nuts and be mindful of common allergens/label food if bringing to share.
Tidying up
As we have been kindly offered this space free of charge, any help to tidy up and return the space cleaner than we found it will be appreciated 💖
